      Carl Thomas Garrett Sr., 77, of Cedar Springs died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Early Memorial Hospital. Mr. Garrett was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Shelby County to the late Tom and Nell Garrett. He was a Mason and employed with Great Southern Paper Company as a supervisor until he retired in 1988.

      Frances Marion Mosely Dunning, 101, of Cuthbert, died Nov. 30, 2006, at Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center in Cuthbert. Mrs. Dunning was born Nov. 4, 1905, in Cedar Springs to the late Francis Marion and Lucy Armistead Mosely. She was a school teacher and lived in Blakely until 2004 when she moved to the Willows assisted living facility in Cuthbert.

      J.C. Battle, 74, of Blakely died Nov. 22, 2006, in Blakely. Mr. Battle was born Dec. 9, 1931, to the late Irma Cook. At age three, he was adopted by John and Mae Lou Lee. He worked as a long shoreman in the New Jersey area for 37 years and returned to Blakely in 1994.

      George Hammonds, 58, of Blakely died Nov. 26, 2006, at Early Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hammonds was born May 6, 1948, in Early County to the late Johnny Clifford Hutchins Sr. and the late Ruth Evelyn Johnson. He was raised by the late Rev. and Mrs. Hammonds and his maternal grandmother, the late Lois Brannon.

She was a member of Stephen Chapel Church where she served on the usher board. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband, B.J. Barber; three daughters; and three sons.

She was a homemaker who spent most of her life in Donalsonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lintry Williams; her daughters, Norma Jean Williams and Clara W.
