Gladys Barber died of Blakely Nov. 27, 2006, in Blakely.

Mrs. Barber was born in Montgomery, Ala., to the late Walter and Laura Turner. She was a member of Stephen Chapel Church where she served on the usher board.

Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband, B.J. Barber; three daughters; and three sons.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Boyd and husband Joseph of Edison, Martha Barber of Blakely, and Mary Lois Moore and husband Willie of Jacksonville; five sons, Willie James Barber and wife Elvira, Eddie James Barber, J.W. Barber, all of Blakely, Bobbie Barber and wife Angelia and Willie J. Barber and wife Alberta, all of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Stephen Chapel Church with Rev. Esau Green officiating. Interment followed at Arms of Faith Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
