ECHS salutes two outstanding students

Early County High School's Grant Bruner and Melanie Love have been honored with a nomination for the prestigious Wendy's High School Heisman Award. The program, awarded in conjunction with the collegiate Heisman, celebrates the achievements of the nation's top high school senior both in and out of the classroom.

Principal Jim Morrell nominated these two promising leaders for their academic aptitude, athletic talent and exceptional commitment to their school and communities.

Bruner, the son of Tony and Lisa Bruner, is a senior at Early County High School where he participates in cross country and golf for the Bobcats. He is also an active member of the drama program, math team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, BETA and Technology Students Association.

Love is the daughter of Gloria and David Love and is also a senior at ECHS where she is a member of the softball team. She is also a member of FCCLA where she holds the office of vice president of parliamentary law as well as serving on the State Youth Leadership Board. Love is the 2006-07 president of the Beta Club.

"Wendy's High School Heisman is a very prestigious award to recognize student achievement," said Principal Morrell.
