First Baptist Homecoming

First Baptist Church of Blakely will celebrate Homecoming Sunday, October 22. The guest speaker will be Rev. Joe Jordan, pastor of Community Bible Church in Fort Benton, Mt.

Worship services will be at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 6 p.m. Sunday School classes will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sunday dinner will be served in the fellowship hall at noon. Everyone is invited, and a nursery is provided for all services.

Joe Jordan grew up in Blakely and graduated from Early County High School in 1973. He received his bachelor degree in chemistry from Troy University and his commission in the United States Air Force through the AFROTC program at Troy in 1977. He served 20 years in the USAF, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1997, Joe accepted the position of Director of Finance at Montana Wilderness School of the Bible, where he served for seven years. In 2004, Joe came to his present position in Fort Benton. He was licensed to the ministry by Elmcrest Baptist Church (SBC) of Abilene, Texas in 1992, and ordained to the ministry by Hephzibah Baptist Church (SBC) of Troy, Ala., in 1995.

Joe is the son of Billy Joe Jordan and the late Carolyn Jordan. He is married to the former Beverly Johnson of Blakely. Beverly will also be present for the special Homecoming celebration. Joe and Beverly have four children and two grandchildren.
