DCA events and meetings planned

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs announces the following meetings and events in the Region 10 service area.

The sixth annual Heritage Tourism Seminar is scheduled in Camilla for Oct. 5-6. Putting history to work in Georgia is a series sponsored by the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Trust and Georgia Department of Economic Development's Tourism Division. The workshop will discuss the traits of the heritage traveler, the need for authenticity, how to develop heritage tourism products, funding sources and collaborative approaches. The Georgia Downtown Conference takes place in Valdosta Oct. 11-13. During this event, classes on basic downtown development authority training and advanced downtown development authority training is held. To register, visit the conference website at www.downtowngeorgia.org/ gdc.
