Westville to hold annual storytelling festival Let's tell a story ... Tall Tales and Short Tales Westville "Georgia's Working 1850 Town" will hold its annual storytelling festival Saturday, April 15. Sessions are scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Listen for a spoonful of laughter and a smidge of mystery as you shake and shiver with stories filled with imagination and wonder lead by master storyteller Mary Bass and joined by tellers L'Neal Fortner, Mary Lisby and Steve Scott, Van Smith and Bill Hewitt, Ann Hewitt and Dr. Bill Buntin. Listeners are encouraged to stir up their own tale and participate in the sessions. With dancing hands and smiling eyes, storytellers come in all sizes and shapes producing excitement and intrigue for all ages. "The stage is set and the time draws near, For the stories and tales that we shall hear." As you stroll slowly or take a wagon ride through the magic of 1850, the craft demonstrations, made from scratch biscuits, and ginger bread cooked on a wood stove are just waiting for your visit. Westville is located in Lumpkin, 35 miles south of Columbus, Ga. on US 27. Hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission charge is $4 for students and $10 for adults with group rates available.
