George Mulkey Upholsterer George Jordan Mulkey, 78, of Blakely, died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Mulkey was born in Henry County, Ala., March 23, 1928, to the late Dan Gordon Mulkey and Hilma Saunders Mulkey. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He lived in Early County since 1966 and was a retired upholsterer and auctioneer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blakely. Survivors include his wife, Anna Jean Knighton Mulkey of Blakely; three daughters, Glenda Tew and husband Jimmy of Salem, Ore., Cynthia Houston and husband Joel of Blakely and Marianna Watson and husband Lonnie of Atlanta; three sons, Ronnie Mulkey, Danny Mulkey and wife Cindy and Porter Mulkey and wife Marcia, all of Blakely; one brother, James Mulkey of Columbia, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services are today, Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at 3 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Blakely with Rev. Charles Devane and Rev. Fred Odom officiating. Interment will follow at Blakely Cemetery. Pallbearers are Danny Durham, Dan Mulkey, Jordan Mulkey, Jason Mulkey, James Tew and Joshua Watson. Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
