(Brookfield Power) and Robertson
Energy Group, LLC (Robertson
Energy) filed preliminary permit
applications, pursuant to section
4(f) of the Federal Power Act, proposing
to study the feasibility of
the George W. Andrews
Hydroelectric Project located at
the existing George W. Andrews
Lock and Dam on the
Chattahoochee River, Early
County, Georgia, and Huston
County, Alabama, near the town of
Columbia, Alabama. The projects
would occupy federal lands under
the jurisdiction of the U. S. Army
Corps of Engineers. The sole purpose
of a preliminary permit, if
issued, is to grant the permit holder
priority to file a license application
during the permit term. A
preliminary permit does not
authorize the permit holder to
perform any land disturbing
activities or otherwise enter upon
lands or waters owned by others
without the owners’ express permission.

The proposed Projects description:

The proposed George W.
Andrews Lock and Dam
Hydroelectric Project by
Brookfield Power (Project No.
13077-000, filed on November 16,
2007),would be built on the
Alabama side and would consist
of: (1) a new powerhouse containing
four new pit turbine-generators
each rated at 6 MW for a total
combined plant capacity of 24
MW; (2) an intake channel and a
tailrace channel; (3) an approximately
ten miles long transmission
line connecting the powerhouse
to an existing substation;
and (4) appurtenant facilities.
The proposed project would have
an average annual generation of
89 gigawatt-hours.
The proposed George W.
Andrews Hydroelectric Project by
Robertson Energy (Project No.
13081-000, filed on November 21,
2007, would be built on the
Alabama side and would consist
of: (1) a new powerhouse containing
four new turbine-generators
each rated at 4 MW for a total
combined plant capacity of 16
MW; (2) an intake channel and a
tailrace channel; (3) an approximately
ten miles long transmission
line connecting the powerhouse
to an existing substation;
and (4) appurtenant facilities.
The proposed project would have
an average annual generation of
75 gigawatt-hours.

The promissory note evidencing
the indebtedness secured by
the aforesaid security deed from
Mark Kenneth Avirett to First
State Bank of Blakely is in default
as to the payment of principal and
interest, and that debt has been
declared due and payable in full.
Notice has been given of intention
to enforce the provisions of the
note for collection of attorney’s
fees in accordance with legal
requirements.
Notice of initiation of proceedings
to exercise the power of sale
contained in said deed to secure
debt has been duly mailed to the
said Mark Kenneth Avirett in
compliance with the provisions of
O.C.G.A. ' 44-14-162.1 through 44-
14-162.4.
Said real estate will be sold as
the property of Mark Kenneth
Avirett, subject to all unpaid
taxes, assessments, restrictions,
easements of record, and rights of
persons in possession, if any.
The proceeds of said sale will
be applied first to the payment of
expenses of said sale, second to
satisfaction of the indebtedness,
including attorney’s fees, secured
by the deed to secure debt from
Mark Kenneth Avirett to First
State Bank of Blakely, and the
remainder, if any, paid to the person
or persons entitled thereto.
A deed will be executed and

The Southwest Georgia
Workforce Investment Board
(WIB) is accepting proposals for
the delivery of intensive services
under the Workforce Investment
Act (WIA) Title I Adult and
Dislocated Worker programs as
specified in the Request for
Proposal (RFP). The services
under procurement target the
specific Southwest Georgia counties
of Colquitt and Worth. The
approximate level of Workforce
Investment Act (WIA) funding
available is $150,000 for Adult
and $50,000 for Dislocated
Worker. Bidders must submit proposed
services for both Colquitt
and Worth counties and both program
categories of Adult and
Dislocated Worker.
The application can be presented
under an agreement of several
community partners or agencies,
or by a single entity. Applications
will be accepted from non-profits
and/or private, for profits.
